Question: Will God Accept a Good Man Who is a Sincere Athiest?

Answer:  Several things need to be said here.  First of all, I am not God, and thus have no right to that God will, or will not understand.  All I can do is show what the Bible, God's Word says.  Secondly, we need to realize that just doing good, and leading a moral life, and not hurting someone else, does not mean that we have obeyed all that God has commanded in the Bible.  Moreover, Romans 3:23 teaches that all people have sinned.  Therefore, in the future if we are to go to heaven we not only need to do right, but first and very importantly, we need forgiveness of our past sins.  For us to receive forgiveness we have to believe in Jesus and obey him.  In John 8:24, Jesus said "for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." In Mark 16:16, Jesus said "He that believeth and is bapized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be condemned."  So then, the Bible does not offer hope to those who will not believe and obey God.  Sincerity does not make up for a lack of faith.  God is not at fault if man is an athiest.  All around is the evidence of God.  We see the sun, moon, stars, earth and life.  The existence of these things tells us they were made by something with power, intellect, wisdom, they did not come from nothing.  Romans 1:20 teaches us that man is without excuse for failing to believe there is a God.  God won't accept such a flimsy excuse.  Psalms 14:1 says "The fool has said in his heart, There is no God."  We urge people to believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ.
